| Shanghai Banknote Printing Plant
(SBPP) was founded in 1941, up to now the plant has the history
of 62 years. The Plant is located in Shanghai---the center of
national and international economy, finance and trade. After
such a long history, the Plant has undergone many changes, and
it takes on an entirely new aspect. SBPP is subordinated to
China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation (CBPMC). The
plant is a state-owned backbone enterprise which owns a whole
set of advanced printing machines and modern technology. The
total number of its staff and members is more than 2,500. SBPP
has several daughter companies: Shanghai Securities Printing
Plant, Shanghai Mite Speciality & Precision Printing Co.,Ltd,
etc. So SBPP produces high security products, such as banknote,
value-added invoice, bank bill, value paper and stamp. It's
also the only place where the national passports are manufactured.
SBPP has international-level advanced machines and design
ability, such as the banknote design, plate-making system,
Super Intaglio, Super Orlof Intaglio, NotaCheck, Numerota,
Intaglio machine, etc. The Plant also has the national-developed
equipments, such as multi-function offset machine and Intaglio
machine. During these years, the enterprise has successfully
developed and manufactured the fifth version of RMB, the commemorative
banknote of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of China.
SBPP contributes a lot to the fulfillment of the duty of the
Center Bank and the issuing of banknotes.
The enterprise always insists on the Principle of "
Security is the most important, Quality is the life of the
enterprise". As for the management, the Plant combines
the traditional experience and modern methods, the products'
quality is improved a lot. A whole set of complete, advanced,
strict and special managerial system and process technology
has been set up, and the Plant has gained the certificates
of ISO9001 of 2002 version, OHSAS18001 and ISO14001, so the
products' quality and digital accuracy are guaranteed.
Thanks to the advanced technology, the management system
and the good reputation, SBPP competes successfully in the
market, and tries its best to serve the finance industry and
different fields. The enterprise keeps on the concept of "
Being honest to print, and being the No.1", the enterprise's
spirit is: Printing Banknote Delicately, Being Honest Printers.
SBPP has gained the title of "Municipal Modern Unit"
for four times, and has also gained the titles of "Municipal
Model Image Unit", "National Model Family",
etc. For the recent years, the economic effect is getting
better and better and SBPP is listed as one of the 500 biggest
enterprises as for sales income.
Now the Plant is focusing on the 10th five-year plan, which
is to build SBPP into an enterprise opened to the public secluded
in 2005. At that time SBPP will embody the highest China Banknote
Printing level.
